IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION

Important Note: Information below is for reference purposes only and should be confirmed prior to your trip. Some information provided by third party sources and may not be up to date.

Documents Required for Travel

It is client(s) responsibility to verify necessary travel documents – please contact us prior to departure with any questions, as Berwick Travel cannot be responsible for denied boarding due to improper documentation.
• Passports are required for all US and Canadian citizens (including children and infants) traveling internationally via air and must be valid at least six (6) months past travel date. Names must match passports exactly or guests may be denied boarding without compensation.
• U.S. citizens who travel to a country where a valid passport is not required will need documentary evidence of their U.S. citizenship and identity. Proof of U.S. citizenship includes an expired U.S. passport, a certified (original) birth certificate (NOT hospital issued), Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, or Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States. To prove identity, a valid driver’s license or government identification card are acceptable provided they identify you by physical description or photograph. This is for US citizens only – for citizens of other countries, clients must contact their local consulate for specific requirements.
• Minors under 18 years of age traveling alone, with only one parent, or a third party may need additional notarized paperwork. Berwick Travel recommends obtaining a notarized letter from the absent parent(s) giving permission to travel to avoid any delays or issues. For more information, visit https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/449.
• Flying with a REAL ID: Beginning 2025, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States. For more information visit https://www.tsa.gov/real-id.
• Vaccination Requirements: In rare instances, vaccinations may be recommended for certain destinations. Please contact your local doctor who will advise you of these requirements. Please note that vaccinations may be recommended some period in advance of traveling. It is the client(s) responsibility to be aware of any vaccination requirements.

Visas

If you are traveling to Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Egypt, India, Jordan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, or Vietnam, you will need a visa. Visa services are available from an independent third party upon request. If you would like to obtain your visa through our partner, please visit their website and download a visa kit. Complete and return the forms to the visa company in a timely manner so that you will have your documentation in time to travel. The timing is explained within the kit instructions. Anyone who wishes to obtain their own visas for Cambodia and Vietnam should make sure to get a single-entry visa for Cambodia and a double-entry visa for Vietnam. This will enable travel to Vietnam, to Cambodia and back to Vietnam during the course of the itinerary. Please note that e-visas for Vietnam are now accepted for US and Canada passport holders. E-visas for Cambodia are accepted for guests traveling from Hanoi to Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City. However, if traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Cambodia to Hanoi, a label visa or visa on arrival is applicable. Cruise lines may assist with obtaining the latter. On Ocean cruises, the ship will obtain the required visa prior to your arrival for Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. On River cruises, representatives will help you acquire your Egypt and Jordan visas on arrival. Note: Visa requirements subject to change at any time without notice. Berwick Voyages accepts no responsibility for obtaining required visas nor for advising guests of visa or other immigration requirements.

Europe/UK Entry Requirements

For travel starting in May 2025, an electronic travel authorization will be required to enter most European countries. Once the program is operational, you can apply for the authorization through ETIAS (the European Travel information and Authorization System) online at https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en. Please note: You will need to provide proof of ETIAS prior to your flight and prior to boarding your voyage in order to travel to EU countries.

Effective January 8, 2025, U.S. citizens and Canadian citizens will be required to obtain an ETA for travel to or through the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Citizens of other countries may also need to obtain an ETA (consult with your local embassy or consulate). Visit the UK website for further information: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta.

Travel Documents

It is very important that you read the following information carefully and contact us if you require any assistance in any area. PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS CAREFULLY ONCE YOU RECEIVE THEM. Acceptance of travel documents constitutes your agreement that all documents are in order. If any discrepancy, error, or typo exists, client(s) must contact us within 5 business days of document receipt or documents will be considered accepted and accurate. Berwick Travel is not liable for any document errors if not notified within 5 business days.

Flight Timings, Departure Points, Flight Numbers

The timings shown on your ticket are subject to reconfirmation on both OUTBOUND and INBOUND journeys. Please contact the applicable Airline at least 24 hours before departure. Berwick Travel does not accept responsibility for amended flight timings or numbers. Minimum check-in time for domestic flights is 1.5 hours and for international flight, 2.5 hours. Seat assignments are not guaranteed and are subject to change by the airline at any time, with no compensation.

Closed Loop Cruises

A closed-loop cruise begins and ends at the same U.S. port. Since these cruises do not involve flying internationally, U.S. citizens typically don’t need a passport to board. Instead, travelers can use government-issued photo ID (like a driver’s license) along with a certified copy of their birth certificate.

These cruises often visit destinations like the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, or Canada. However, it’s still a good idea to check the specific documentation requirements for your cruise itinerary and any ports of call. While a passport isn’t mandatory for closed-loop cruises, having one can be helpful in case of emergencies, like needing to fly back to the U.S. unexpectedly.
